About MailTwin
One name, two ideas
Most "AI for email" apps lock you into one model and one writing voice. MailTwin is the opposite — pick whatever AI fits the job, with your own key, and let it learn how you already write. Separately for work and personal, because your Saturday voice isn't your Tuesday voice.
That's the whole product, in two sentences. Everything else — the streaming replies, the per-recipient style hints, the provider kill-switch, the cost log — is just consequence.
Who builds it
MailTwin is published by Smilodon AS, a small software studio in Norway run by Christopher Naas. Smilodon ships native Mac software with a long shelf life — the kind you install once and stop thinking about. We're a one-person shop for now, with the contractor and translator network we lean on when something's outside our wheelhouse.
We don't have a board, a roadmap deck, or a growth team. What we do have is a roadmap that's pinned to user feedback, bug-fix builds that ship the same day a problem is reported, and an email address you can reach a human at — usually within the day.
Why Apple Mail
Because nothing else on the Mac is as fast, as private, or as deeply integrated with the rest of macOS as Apple Mail. Filters, rules, signatures, multiple identities, calendar handoff — Mail already does all of that, and it does it without phoning home. We didn't want to replace any of that. We wanted to drop a smarter compose-and-reply layer on top, the way a good keyboard macro tool sits on top of any text field, and let Mail keep being Mail.
What we don't do
- We don't operate a backend that touches your email content. AI calls go straight from your Mac to whichever provider's key you've pasted. Not a single byte of email body crosses our servers.
- We don't sell, share, or aggregate any data — there is no data on our side to sell. Read the privacy policy if you'd like the full breakdown.
- We don't subscribe-trap. MailTwin is a one-time purchase ($39 single, $99 5-pack), and every 1.x update is included for life.
- We don't auto-charge. If MailTwin breaks because an AI provider shut down a model on short notice and we can't ship a fix, we'll refund the unused portion of your update window. Details here.
How to reach us
One address handles everything — support, privacy questions, partnership ideas, "is this thing you do consulting for hire" — [email protected]. We usually reply within a day, often the same hour. There's no ticketing system, no chatbot, no "your call is important to us". Just a person reading the email.
Legal entity, for the curious
Smilodon AS is registered in Norway. Our terms of service, privacy policy, and refund policy are linked from every page — and we drafted them to be readable, not impressive. If something there doesn't make sense, please tell us.
